Front Tires? - Firestone or BKT?

One of the original fronts on my IH utility tractor gave up yesterday - after 55 years. So time for a new pair. Trying to decide between regular 3 rib Firestones or something like this BKT tire - it looks pretty good, but I have never heard of them. And I don't have any prices yet either. Anyone have some advice?

I believe BKT is from India. Their radial rear tractor tires have a very decent reputation, their bias ply rear tractor tires have had some(many) issues. I know nothing about their front tires. You will likely find a significant price difference compared to the Firestone in favor of the BKT.

Around this immediate area, the tire outfits basically ask you, do you want a Firestone, or do you want something else? The something else doesn't seem to matter much. Seems like they consider Firestone top of the line and everything else in a lesser group. We have all manner of tire brands on our machinery around here. Mostly whatever the tire guy had the best price on at the time. I think Firestone has the best quality and longest lasting rubber in their tires. They are generally more expensive, too.

If it was rears I would have no choice but BKT tires due to bad luck with Firestone rears. I would not even consider buying a tractor with Firestones on it.

Tim I sold and installed many semi loads of tractor tires, many different brands. If this is a tractor that gets used 100 hours or less a year, the bkts will work. Anything other than that Firestone's.

Of the two of them I would go with the firestone but I would look into American Farmer if it was me.

Ended up getting the BKT's. They were $35 a piece cheaper. $140 for the Firestones (with mounting). I probably put 25 hrs a year on this tractor - only plowing snow and skidding a few firewood logs. Also had them loaded with Rimguard - front gets a bit light sometimes, even with all the weight I have on it.
Thanks for everyone's input.

Tim
