Trucking Dirt With The IHC

A follow up video to the cold starting video from a few days ago. Dug up some dirt from the dugout dump to use as fill on an approach that I
was building wider. It went well. That old IH with the transplanted BD 264 engine has some real power. Got up into third gear going downhill.

Another great video... Like I said in another post of yours,"I really like those old IH trucks" I have started to watch some of your videos on u-tube. Do you have any thay are of your equipment? Like an equipment tour?

(quoted from post at 21:09:41 11/03/18) Nice looking truck but please tell me that is not the truck gas tank in the passenger seat.
You bet it is. No matter how much I worked on cleaning up the original steel tank I kept having problems with sediment in the lines. This new plastic marine tank on the floor works great. Got one in the trunk of the Merc too. It will do a lot of work on 5 gallons of gas.

Hi Rusty, I persume that is a Doncaster UK built engine as fitted to the Farmall Super BMD tractors, Super BWD6 tractors and BTD6 crawlers. MJ

As far as I know all the old IH engines were built in North 'America. This is a truck engine, similar in size to some of the tractors but not the same engine. This one is either a BD or BG 264 cubic inch out of a newer, 1960s IH truck. Original engine was the SD 240 cubic inch.

From the looks of your coat you are like me wear them out I have an old coat I know I have had for twenty years my wife tries to get rid of it I had a new zipper put in a few years back still my favorite coat to wear when working outside.

True, my coats are like my trucks and machinery. Hate to throw them out when they still do the job. But I admit this one is ready to burn. I'm going to have to dress up a little smarter for these videos in future. :)

Thought I smelled gas as I watched the video, didn't notice the tank, was looking at the dashboard.

Good looking Binder. I learned to drive in my grandfathers '58 IH pickup, always enjoy seeing them.

Another compliment is in order. I have to say that I really look forward to viewing your posts. Sometimes I get delayed from things I should be doing!! Can I say that you're contributing to my delinquency?? (meant as a joke of course) I recently looked at a bit of your canola combining and wondered about the combine pickup as to what make. It looks quite like the old John Deere belt pickups but made of metal. In my days on the farm as a young fellow, there were Melroe belt pickups that were made of metal. Not sure if Melroe pickups are still made or if yours might still be Melroe.

I had a chuckle at your wheat cutting video where you mentioned traveling at 2.2 MPH then said "or 2.1 MPH, guess I have to speed up a bit". Somehow that made me chuckle.

Thanks Ron. Glad you get some amusement from the videos. Metal belt Melroe pickups were everywhere here when I was a kid but you don't see any of them now. Both mine are rubber belts with plastic teeth on the John Deere and the IH. Both good pickups. Had an old Sund on the 510 Massey and it was different but also a very good pickup.
Yes, I travel pretty slow compared to a lot of combines. I don't like to push the machinery too hard as long as the rotor/cylinder is running a good flow of material through. You should have seen me on that thin crop of oats though. Straight cutting, close to the ground at over 4 mph. No time for playing with a camera at that speed!
