Hello
I have a international 784.
It has some starting issues .
I replaced the starter and solenoid ( it went bad anyway ), the key ignition , and brand new heavy battery.

I ordered a neutral safety switch ( i think its bad too ,wore and sloppy ), and a new CNL SOLENOID SWITCH.

Ok so heres the question : there is a small block that has 2 posts marked "BAT and the other AUX . What is it and how do i get a new one / number?

The 2nd question is :there is a block with 3-4 wires plugged in to it and a number 8313 on it as part of the starting system / again what is it and where to get it ?

Thanks for any help .

Hi Ghost,
Do you have a wiring diagram for your 784? The starting circuit is very simple on that model of tractor unless it has been
modified over the years.
Not to question your ability but I don't know your level of experience and I don't want you to be injured so for a test only to
trouble shoot the starting problem.

You can cheat the clutch safety switch just by connecting the two wires together BUT for safety reasons just do this as a test.
Make sure tractor transmission in in neutral and park brake ON or wheels blocked.
Again to test the starter with tractor in Neutral, Park Brake ON and Clutch pedal tied down, on the starter solenoid large
battery bolt use a large screw driver or battery jumper cable to jump to the large bolt on the solenoid that connects to the
starter and the starter should spin.
If you jump the solenoid battery terminal to the small start switch terminal on the solenoid, the solenoid should engage and
starter spin and start cranking the engine and engine will start if the STOP/START/RUN lever is in START or RUN position.
BECAREFULL make sure transmission in Neutral and Park Brake On and Wheels Blocked and tie the Clutch pedal down because if you
are standing beside the starter jumper it and tractor starts in gear, you in severe danger.

"It has some starting issues." From the list of parts I assume you mean you have problems getting the starter motor to crank the engine, not to get engine to start when cranking.

You have a long list of replacement parts. How do you know that they are all defective?

Many starter cranking problems are due to corroded battery cables and/or connections. Did you clean your battery cable ends, especially the ground connection to the frame of the tractor. Also make sure this connection is at cast iron frame as near to the starter as possible. If ground is connected to a battery box or sheet metal, each connecting joint between there and starter is a potential for unwanted corrosion and resistance.
