My turn to plow

We got some rain in the last week and a bit of a break so I put the weights on the tractor and plowed a couple of fields for the Hmongs. I actually plugged the plow a couple of times in some carrots and beets that were never harvested...who would think carrots would plug a plow!

6060 or 6080?
We bought a 6060 new with 15.5x38 tires thinking we would do row crop with it. We ended up doing field work with it. 15.5x38 tires wouldn't hold it. We found some 18.4x30's and put them on, full of fluid. Then it didn't spin! We pulled 4x16" side by side with a 185. They pulled equally well, but the 6060 had more power, and burned less fuel.

Looks nice. I had a sagebrush plug me up today .
Then broke 2 plow shares and ripped a bottom off
got new bolts and scrounged up some good used
plow shares fiat doesn?t stock any supposed to have
some tomorrow. What model plow is that ?

This is a 6080, it had loaded 18.4 x 34 radials on it when I bought it. Last year I put it on a diet and 18.4 x 30's to use as my field mowing tractor. I put the 15.5's on the other day because the long bar/short bar 18.4's would shake me to death at certain speeds....love the 15.5 Firestones! Pic of the day I brought it home, bought on auctiontime for $3400

Sure do not see how you guys do it. In this part of the country if you use a moleboard plow you are subject to all kind of problems. Turning this soil just let too much wash way. No till or Minimum till has been the thing here for the last 20 years.

A lot less rain out here, roll over plows are pretty common because they were used on flood irrigated fields back in the day....and they needed to keep the fields flat.

I had 15.5.38 on the 4020 absolutely worthless I have been high centered more than once plowing when you are 14 inches deep it doesn?t leave much ground clearance . Didn?t help they were bald
