I have been unable to find the torque settings for my I 300U cam and crank nuts which has a c169 engine circa March 1956. In my search I also don't find any for most IH engine for this very necessary 2 important pieces. Also, Im having trouble getting this to post so this is the third attempt if its landing someplace else.

well i have worked on I H engines for a lot of years and what i use is a couple drops of LOCTITE BLUE and everything my CP 745 can put to it . And it can twist off a 5/8th. grade 8 bolt

You know TV I wanted to say , if a man cannot tell when that nut is tight enough not sure he has been wrenching very long. I have built many of IH engines and that nut just lock tight put a ratchet and pull it down till it feels right. Can,t remember having one come back. Now building a 6 thousand dollar ih 455 pulling tractor engine , yes I might torque the cam idler stud since they do have a tendency to back out.. Maybe he will get it tight enough to hold.

Ok well that's the answer I got from 2 local IH mechanics and the local rebuild shop looked on their national computer program and it had nothing, they then told me they usually use Cases comparable readings as they had noticed IH not having
this value years ago and just live with it. It didn't set well with me as my dad and uncles and grandads all were IH from way back.
Wish they were still here so I could harass them a little over this- LOL
