Leaves starting to turn

Trees finally starting to turn color here in central Missouri. Finished up regular soybean harvest yesterday. Bad D3-D4 level drought here this summer really hurt yields. For my 3 fields I averaged 39, 38 and 38 bu/ac (consistent at least!). I was glad we got a hard freeze earlier this month to kill off some greener regrowth spots from late season rains (too late to help much). Still have 7 acres of double crop beans to do next week and I'll be completely done with harvest. Just need to get winter wheat planted to finish out the season.

Here in SJ there is a maple that is one of the very fist to turn.
Always a beautiful screeeemin orange color. Took this today. Most of
the other trees are just starting to show colors but they are very
dull this year. Way too much rain I guess.

We have more color than normal this fall here in northwest Iowa. Plenty of rain brings out the color. I have seen some hedge rows that are bright vivid red, I think they are called burning bush. These two trees in front of my house are usually not this colorful in the fall but this year they are in their glory.

Nice photo, like the Gleaner. :)

See if I can post a pic any more here, leaves are about done and gone here in southern MN and so grey out for so long wouldnt see much color
anyhow.

We have bagged about 15 bags so far, another 2-3 to go. We take them to the cabin and put them in the woods, the deer eat some and then bed down in what's left.

I like useing my big bad Agri-fab leaf sucker upper machine. Two or three huge loads and I am done. Look like giant loafs of whole wheat baked bread when you dump them out for the township to pick up.
