All I needed......

With out going into the details I ended up with a pot belly piglet. It is supposed to be house broken and it has metal tags in its ear. The one looks like a hoop earing the other has numbers. Identical to a "Bangs Tag" for cattle. Its been years since I've been around hogs. Pot belly or otherwise. So now I have to figure out what to do with her (gilt) before I go down south the end of next month. Hopefuly find her a new home. Problem is the wife is starting to get attached. The person we got it from said her daughter brought it home. Well they live in a rental and their landlord would be less than impressed. Ideas?

They were small when she left
them there,,he is wanting to find a solution to the problem too! lol

Take it to the animal shelter. Depending on how suitable it is as a pet, they will either find it a good home or put it down.

Might want to show your wife Larry's pics... cuz that cute little piglet is going to get a lot bigger (even though it's not a regular hog).

Also cute little piggies that have grown into hogs, have a more distinctive odor/musky smell. And they love to chew on stuff too - they will eventually gnaw a wooden trough to the point that it needs to be replaced (so she might not be very furniture friendly).

Most destructive varmint I've ever seen. If
there's someone you can't stand in another
county or state give it to them. Otherwise
send the wife to town and let it
accidentally escape and disappear
permanently.

(quoted from post at 11:54:39 10/23/18) Likewise,,,,BBQ. gm

Better do it before they are half as big as in Larry's post.
Otherwise they will be 60% fat and not worth the effort.
Might even have a hard time finding a processor willing to do it if they ever did one before.

when i was in Nam the pigs were kept as pets [not fit to eat], so they ate the dogs instead i guess they tasted better ....
