Can auto trans fluid be used as hydraulic oil for a loader or other imps.?
I've got a lot of the trans fluid around.

Dad used it for years in IH gear drive tractors
Dextron II

If you look closely a lot of heavy equipment uses it and a lot of hydraulic component companies recommend it

Hip shot: ATF runs about 20W and has seal preservatives and pressure resistant addiditives. HYD fluid runs about 10w-30 with seal preservatives and pressure resistant additives. I know of 2 power steering systems, one marine and one farm that the OM says look at the color of the fluid...if red add ATF, if clear add HYD fluid......if your system isn't real picky, like straight hydraulic function and no fancy stuff..............why not?
