Wagon tires

300 bu X 60 = 18000 divided by 4 wheels = 4500 lbs plus 1/4th weight of wagon for each wheel. Local farmer with similar size wagons has gone to super singles from truck. Think about it.

I would like to have just truck tires but the wagons have the 6 bolt wheels in 15? diameter. Do they offer anything in 15? or would I have to change hubs?

I have a couple 250bu Minnesota wagons that can hold 300 bu of good corn. It really pushes a 6 bolt hub and tire.

The good 10 ply implement tires work. They are kinda bouncy and not so durable.

A good truck tire can work, but are hard to find in 15 inch any more, and tend to be pretty skinny in that size. As well, a truck tire is a lot firmer, and will not give and bounce making a jarring ride for the wagon.

Either got to a truck or heavier running gears. Broken spindle waiting to happen. You need a 12 ton gear for those boxes. Don't think you can get the bigger tires or wheels for the truck tires like the 22.5/24.5 sizes. Or could do like we do put your box on a truck frame for a running gear. No more tire or axle problems.

Check Carlisle tires website. They have some 15" load range F ribbed tires.
