Dump trailer stopped working, What do you think happened,?

Is the cause oxidation, electrolysis, using a vented battery, using the wrong parts, not using a grease to stop oxidation, or JUST NEGLECT? What can anyone expect to happen when there are dissimilar metals and acid fumes?
I vote for all the above.

BTW, I didn't have to use a vote meter to figure out why my dump trailer took a dump.

Vote now, vote often and even the dead can vote. Wait a minute, only the dead can vote in about a month. LOL

George One of the best things I have found for battery terminals is "Fluid Film". It stops the corrosion and does not turn into a sticky goo like the battery protectant sprays.

Exactly, Fluid Film is the best, I use it on brake lines as well so that I need not worry about rusted out lines,I use it in fender wells and I remove the tail lights on my truck and spray all around the upper inside of the quarter panels. Fluid Film is a well know rust protectant.

At the suggestion of a poster on this site I have been using copper never seize on battery terminals for close to 10 years now and have had zero problems with corrosion and electrical contact since.

Bought trailer new in 2011. This copper cable came with trailer. This is only terminal like this. I think acid from battery is to blame. I'll only buy sealed batteries from now on. You can see the top of battery looks wet.

Failed due to bold above.
The first cable has grease or such on it as well as the battery terminal and it did not corrode at all.
