Hi all,
I have a David Brown Cropmaster that has a loud high pitched squeal.
It has been sitting for a week and the water level has gone down, and the oil level has gone up (with a milky colour...).
When I went to start it this evening, it was hydro-locking.
To give you some history, I picked it up from a farmer who was trying to get rid of it, and he has no idea of its history. The exhaust was not covered, and some of the gearbox bearings had fallen out, locking up the engine...
The squeal is just a recent development (maybe for a month or so?), and the radiator has been holding water well for a while.
I would like to know what the squeal is, and whether you think the head is cracked.
I am grateful for any advice, as this is a special project of mine and I have put a lot (and I mean a LOT!) of hours (and months) into this machine to get it running!
Thanks!
Joshua
