Farmall A question

I would say yes but do not know what years. What I do know is that I have a distillate Super A, 1951 model.

All of the letter series Farmalls used distillate as the standard fuel. Kerosene was an option, and gasoline was also an option. At some point, gasoline became the standard fuel.

If the serial number on your tractor does not have a suffix after the number, it came from the factory as a distillate burner.

When I went looking for new rod bearings for our A the parts man told my my engine was a distillate, by looking at the old bearing, it was wider. I could not find wider bearings so I put new narrow ones in, (with some shims behind a couple) and it ran just fine with good oil pressure for as long as we had it. It did not have the extra tank for the starting gas.

He was wrong the cranks were all the same using same bearings. Probably had a listing with errors not uncommon today parts books now have mistakes

My 1948 Farmall Super A was set up for kerosene
