My homemade 30 inch brush hog goes where no lawn mower can go. The boss told me it's time to start doing my fall work in her gravel pit. We usually wait for a frost. Forecasting possible frost in a few nights. So she put me to work.
I removed the 42 inch mower deck and replaced the turf tires on the old craftsman that has a 7 speed gearbox. That gives me a lot of clearance to go over rough terrain. Mower blade on my 30 inch brush hog is 6 inches off the ground. It's no struggle cutting small saplings. The 3.5 hp briggs does just fine. If I hit something I shouldn't no damage, it kills the engine.
The pics of the down hill to the gravel pit. We cleared the hill shide about 3 winters ago. Mowing the place has an added surprise. You can see clover growing between the flowers in third pic.
To keep everyone happy, I need to mention TRACTORS. So this 30 inch brush hog can go places where no Tractor can go
