just a suggestion, I do not know if you have heard of it or used it,, its called DEEP CREEP by sea foam, That is all I use anymore, little on the pricey side but well worth it

Diesel fuel in a garden sprayer is a LOT cheaper!

When done seeding, mix some motor oil and diesel fuel and spray the fluted feeds to help prevent sticking again.

The fuel oil and used engine oil works well and much cheaper. We use old oil for oiling chains slides and all sorts of things. We even used to paint it on the sills timbers in the old cow barn when we had cattle in there to keep them from rotting with the manure and urine also water.

Your probably right but the side that came loose still
took a 4 foot cheater pipe on the end of my 8 inch
crescent wrench 🔧

The manual says to use diesel and oil mixed to free up the shafts . Still haven?t gotten the other side to come loose yet but I soaked it good and maybe it come loose in a day or two

I think I?m gonna oil all 4 drills when I?m done this year . This one wouldn?t Have froze up if it hadn?t had seed left in for 7 years with the lids open

The agitator in old drop type fertilizer spreaders were a similar arrangement. The farmer that I worked for as a kid used drain oil very liberally on his after he got done with it each year.
