F20 and Regular Gas Caps

Over the years, we've experienced gas slobbering out around the gas cap, on our Farmall Regular. This goes pretty tough on paint and decals, on the gas tank. We trailer it, now and then, and like to keep the gas tank fairly full. We have replaced gas cap gaskets. Noticed, today, that the gas cap is vented, but the vent holes have been painted over. Could be part of the problem. Has anyone else experienced this? Might try one of those really tall caps, to see if it helps.

thereis no reason to keep a tank full on a parade tractor and yes that hole needs to be open.I only have a full tank when on a long tractor ride just have a gal or so over winter and they always start a run just fine in the spring and thats with the 10% blend been doing it that way for many yrs

I replaced mine with the new cap IH would give you as replacement.
