I just finished this saw up tonight. I am
thinking about selling it and don't really
see many for sale to get a idea of what to
ask for. Its made from the Buller Mfg Co.
of Hillsboro Kansas. Good bearings. Solid.
Not sure about the blade if its good or
not.

I see a limited market for it.Around here anybody who cuts wood does it all with a chain saw.No one here puts up pole wood anymore.I own quite a few tractor mounted saw rigs and have not had one on tractor in 35 years.Out in the cow pasture I have a pto driven saw rig on trailer I built in 1989 I have not used in 15 years. It takes a good crew to cut pole wood.In the winter growing up we use to cut at least two wagon loads of pole wood every other saturday. The person standing throwing wood got mighty cold feet standing there.Spent alot of days in the spring cutting pole wood with dad to dig out in the winter. You might find a buyer who who has access to slab wood or wants a yard decoration.Scott

They're advertised in the photo ads quite often.
Take a cruise through the Implements column and
compare prices.
Although I haven't seen one that looks as good
as yours.

I have one that's 65 years old and we still use. Cut wood to length to handle (4 FT) and use buzz saw.

Neighbor had a setup like yours. Pulled a pickup box trailer behind. Could sure cut wood in a hurry.

My neighbor was cutting up several truck loads of fence posts. I think he could cut faster than three men with chain saws.

I had one I sold a year ago for $400, was good condition, not repainted. I ?m in western PA, the guy that bought came from TENN. I think I was lucky to get that much.

I get my wood log length and use a chainsaw to block it up but when I get 3 foot or 4 foot ends less then 8 inch dia. I toss them to the side and get out the Cordwood saw on the 8n I find that to be safer than trying to use a chainsaw on the shorts. That said to be efficient and safe you really need at least 2 people one to run the saw and the other to take away the cutoffs. With only one person you have to keep an eye on the cutoffs so they don't build up under the blade. I have seen them asking for $150 to $400 depending on condition, I say asking who knows what they actually get. I stopped to look at a dearborn saw once the owner was asking $400 and it was really in rough shape but it belonged to his late dad so it had emotional value to him. yours is in nice shape so ask high but be ready to take less.

I bought my three point Dearborn unit for $25 in 2013. Not painted, but used it at the guys house, unhooked it, and brought it home.

$25.00-$500.00 I suppose. All depends on who needs one vs who wants one. They are a great tool IMO.

I have that saw and a full size stake down and a 3 point hitch model. None have been used for years as don't burn wood. Have no trees to make into wood as well. Have use the saws by myself but is easier with more. And I could never get that chain saw to run. Gave away my last gas saw. Just have an electric now for trimming. A buzz saw will make 5 cuts to every one with a chain saw.

Very nice paint job! Maybe sell it as a lawn ornament, hopefully to someone that does not have kids or grand kids that would climb on it.

Mine will probably be going to scrap shortly same as the saws at auction just a couple of weeks ago did, Group of several only brought a couple of dollars, same as a good 3 point mounted scoop along with a drag type sold for $5

Your saw is much like square balers were a number of years ago.

At one point in time auction sales could hardly give them away.

Once a pile of them went for scrap suddenly the market for them turned around and they started to rise in price again.

Your saw to the right person holds good value, I would advertise it for 4 or 5 hundred and see who comes around.

Just read a classified ad yesterday from someone looking for one.
Right now is probably the best time of the year to list it.

You are not seeing many advertised because there are not many left in ready to use condition, this is good for you because anyone who really wants one has little to choose from.
