Ford Speed Patrol

Last week a couple of pics of these Ford graders were posted on here. I had never seen one before, have seen many Allis Chalmers "Speed Patrols". Driving along N. Territorial Rd. at Curtis Rd, there is a horse racing training facility with an oval for the horses. I spotted this Ford on the trailer and took some pics. It seems someone had added a new distributor and coil in an attempt to get it running. I do not see a grading blade near the machine. Before last weeks pics, I did not know Ford made a machine like this. Anyone have any more info on them? They look really cool, we could use one on our private drive.

That ad says it's using an 8N tractor. The one I saw had an OHV engine. What was the base tractor it used?

They came out during the 8N years, but could be adapted to later tractors.

As Showcrop sez 8N. I believe there were different mounting holes on the rear bracket to mount to different tractors. A friend of mine had one on a TO30 ferguson. Here's one at our show a few years back. Owner had it since new and was used to maintain roads in a gravel pit. Owner lived a few miles from the show and didn't have a trailer so drove it to the show. I would like seen that thing coming down the road. I'm betting there was a lot of head scratching from people that seen it.
