Tractor Shed Pidgeons

Pidgeons have taking a liking to my tractor shed. Droppings everywhere. I am in the process of closing there entrance holes. Is there a good method of getting rid of them before hand? I flushed them out in the open with wasp spray and then shot one with a BB gun. I am reluctant to use bird shot in the shed.
Does anyone else have a good idea to get rid of them.

As a kid, us grandsons would shoot them with a shotgun as they exited the barn. We then cleaned them and gave the dressed birds to Grandma. She liked to eat pigeon.

I spot light them at night. They usually will be roosted next to wood post/boards. I shot them with .22 shorts. Just watch your angle so if you miss it hit the wood.

In the ones in the silos and places without wood or a good way to shot them. My wife likes "live" skeet. LOL I scare them out and she drops the hammer on them.

I hate bird crap on machinery. It eats the paint.

Have you considered making a pigeon trap? That?s very easy to do with 1x2 fence wire To make a box trap.Use hog rings at the corners and a One way swinging door. bait it with water in hot weather, grain in cold weather.

(quoted from post at 11:36:34 09/23/18) Until the entrances are closed, it's a loosing battle to try to eradicate them.
xactly.......and once entrances are closed, then so are the exits. Then just remove the ones that couldn't make it without food & water.

Just got done doing this myself and the guys are right. Effort spent on killing them is more or less wasted until you get the holes closed up, that is unless you enjoy the sport of it. When I got my barn all closed up it took a week for all the insiders to die and fall.

Exterminators attach a one-way chute to the last entrance/exit when they are
removing bats from a house. The chute has a gate that lets them go out but not
come back in. You can't kill most species of bat around here - not intentionally
anyhow. You also can't use the chute when there are bat babies around.
