Burning some gas

Beautiful day today, about 75 degrees. I decided to exercise the old 560 on the discbine. This the same 560 that will run 28 mph. I cut probably about 15 acres with it, running mostly in 3rd gear about 5.5 mph, had to down shift now and then. Probably used about 5 gallons per hour. It was fun listen to that 6 cylinder bellow!

Nebraska test #671 says they'll burn 5.166 gallons per hour at maximum H.P. of 63.03 horsepower! 12.2 Hp hr per gallon, NOT too shabby for a gasser!

LOVE listening to those engines, newer had a tractor with one, but had several "gasser" combines with C282's.

When all was well (as it usually was) they sure made sweet music!

Well at 28 mph. I would expect you would hit lots of poles.

How do you get a 560 to run 28 mph?

I don't know, it's been that way since I have had it. It is running about 2600 rpm at 28.
