Last of the straw

Loaded the last of the straw this will go to my aunt for baler rent . Got the plow hooked back on put the land dual wheel on even at 9500 lbs I could use a little more traction. hopefully finish plowing and plant more triticale in the next couple weeks

You're going to need a much longer cord to power that tail wheel when you get to the other end of the field.
I baled the straw off my 18 acres of spring wheat. Only got 294 bales off the whole field. Normal year I would have got twice that many. It was to wet in May here in So. Mn. Wheat was very short. Yield was short too. 34/bpa.
 
You got something,, I had the last of four hailstorms hit here this year when I was half way through cutting my Barley,, it was 100 bpa Barley after three hails it was doing about 40 bpa, after the last one there was not even any straw left to bale lol the last two pics are the same field one taken after I cut it, the other taken two days later after the hail storm and 3 1/2" of rain in less than 25 min, the first pic the straw is only 3" or so high

Yes sir ! We?re fixin to be on the tractor seat until the ground freezes which last year was the week before Christmas 🎄 and then the only reason I quit was because I?d been froze stiff since October
 
That?s to bad to get a crop like that hailed on . Do you have insurance or Is insurance even worth the cost ?
 
no insurance, I had it for 15 years,, never even came close to paying what i did in premiums, just like this year if I had had it they would not have paid a dime,, I hayed almost half of the barley and it would have made twice the county average so they would have said I had no loss,,
 
SV, straw here is like Traditional Farmer says. Sold a load the other day right out of the field for $8.00 a bale. Erosion control. We are listed on the counties website as approved vendors. Not a bad deal.
