O/T Beards and mustaches

Do any of you have a full beard without a mustache?
I was blessed/cursed with curly hair. And the older
I get the curlier the mustache is getting.
So it's always tickling my nose. It really gets annoying.
If you are a mustachless beardsman do people look or comment
on it? Did you get used to it?
To make it a little tractor related, My 13yr old gearhead daughter
and I are picking up an Allis Chalmers big ten garden tractor tomorrow.

Thanks for any replies.

My mustache tries to tickle as well. I do not shave (since 1978) but I do trim. A small pair of quality (Fisker) trim scissors works to keep the issue under control. Jim

I have not shaved since 1982, and yes I trim also, my wife has never seen me without a beard. Bet I could really surprise her!

My Amish friends have beards but they shave parts of their faces all the time and I have never seen any of them with a mustach.

I haven't shaved since this morning, and probably won't again until tomorrow morning. Just have never liked facial hair. Guess it didn't rub off on the kids, both sons have beards (although not long ones). Thankfully, daughter hasn't grown one.

When my middle brother got out of the service in 1969, he immediately began growing a beard. When brother #2 got married, middle brother was to be the best man. The bride to be sent him a letter advising him that if he was going to be in the wedding party, he needed to shave the beard. About a week later, a package arrived containing a mass of facial hair. When he arrived for the wedding, he'd grown it back! Fast forward a few years, and middle brother met a sweet lady. Soon they were hitched, and after three kids moved to the Hill country of South Dakota. Well, my brother got a job at the VA in Hot Springs, and eventually transferred to the fire department. The Chief called him in and informed him that since he was now a full fledged fireman, the beard had to GO.
My brother went home, into the bathroom, and shaved it all off. When he emerged, his sixteen year old son too one look and exclaimed, "No wonder you kept that thing hidden all these years. Poor mom is gonna take one look and run screaming for Montana!
He was the cute one in the family.
My little brother had a beard for quite a while. One day he decided to shave, went into the bathroom, and as his young daughters watched, he removed it all. Once he was done, he bent down to ask them what they thought. Their little eyes grew wide and they began screaming in terror.
As for me, well, as soon as whiskers started, I let them grow. When I joined the National Guard, I would let it grow between drills. Then I did a spell on active duty. When I got out, the beard came back. I keep it trimmed.

I have had a mustache since 1978. I have had beards on an off since then until around 1988-1990. I can't not remember the last time I shaved my beard. It has been around 30 years.

I have seen men with a beard and not a mustache, but I have never thought that it looked quite right. But to each his own. I stopped shaving the Thursday before Thanksgiving in 79. When I was younger I let it grow a few inches long, but as I have gotten older about an inch long, is long enough. I keep my mustache trimmed accordingly.

I pant corn to grow it. I plant hay , to grow a hay crop. I don?t grow a beard, it is like a weed, and just grows it?s self. I tried to shave when my whiskers started making an appearance, but soon found the effort a futile waste of time, they just grew back. If I wanted to have the clean shaved look, it would be a twice a day commitment.
So I put a number 4 guard on the hair clipper, and mow it down, usually one a month. Sometimes in winter it goes longer.
My youngest son lets it grow only on the sides, but keeps his lip shaved. Gets called Abe Lincoln, or Amish guy, but just laughs it off

Finished High school in 78 with a beard and stash, cut the beard a few times and the stash once since then. Always kept trimmed short until 2014 then let it grow. Keep the stash trimmed but Everyone say's the beard reminds them of ZZ top. Now How many of you have long hair? I had long hair as a Kid but kept it short for 30 plus years. When I left the workforce My wife asked me to grow it long again. She always liked it long. Now it's down to the middle of my back and is in a pony tail most of the time.pain it the arse ,yes, but I do look better with Long hair .About the only men I have seen with a beard and no stash are the Amish.

My youngest daughter is 46 and has seen me 1 time without a mustache that she can remember. I Started growing it in 1974 when I went to Germany on Reforger 74. After we got out of the Army in 77 I let it grow into a semblance of a Fomanchu. I trim it back every once in awhile but have never cut it off completely but that one time when she was about 16. Since I've retired, I let the rest of my facial hair grow for about a week then shave it with hair clippers. I haven't shaved with a razer in a quite a while since I don't have to wear a respirator anymore. Retired from work and retired from the local vol. fire department. I tried the beard thing but looked like Snuffy Smith it was so curly. LOL. Keith

Famous man with beard but no mustache.

Beard and stache. Trim both once a month. To lazy to shave. Last time I cut it all off was 1995. RB

I have had a beard and mustache for 20 years. So our oldest son decided he likes the look, but looked too much like me and shaved his mustache. Looks Amish.

dont know what it would be like without a mustache , as i have never had mine off since it started growing in my later teens. over forty years with one so far.lol.

I grew mine in the early to mid 70's reasoning that I'd be less likely to get carded in bars. It worked. I'e only shaved it off twice since.

The last time was the year after my father passed. I was ready for a change. I shaved it off, leaving the mustache. Mrs. Chili took one look and insisted I start growing it back. Said it was weird, made her think she was kissing my dad.

BTW, 2cents, except for the hair, (yours is a bit longer) You could pass for my brother.

I shave and always have. In my younger days a beards were not common and I considered them kind of cool and a mark of individualism. These days every dude on TV or movies and most any guy on the street has some facial hair. Not really beards, just dirty looking whiskers. So I shave.
