Neat Hot weather trick

Love those old tractors with thermo-cool cooling systems. We have had some real hot weather here on the right coast and after working one of my old iron tractors in 90 plus heat, they are pretty hot when I put them back in the barn. Discovered that if I put a pedestal fan right in front of the radiator when I shut them off, the air flow through the radiator from the fan will cool off that hot engine pretty quick. Maybe a half hour or so and the radiator cap is cool to the touch. Sure some of you guys have done the same trick, but just thought I would mention it here.

I Totally understand that , Because the Thermo Keeps working although the Engine is shut off,And Curculating a Natural Occurrence.. A Good Idea Ill have to Remember that One. LOl Larry

I understyand that it works, I don't see why I would need to use it unless it was over heating my building. Jim

The last few time I mowed my yard and mowed with the chopper I ran them up to the hose for ten minutes and washed the radiator out the best I could.

I fail to see any reason that you need to do anything other than give your tractor a couple minute cool down at idle and then shut it off!! Sounds like a lot of BS for nothing.
