Stuck PTO shaft day 5

So I now have the small hole yoke off the long shaft an the big hole yoke on. Next after break I'll go out and polish the inside of the yoke and then polish the shaft it fits on and hopefully the battle will be over. Once that is done and the PTO shaft installed I get to see if I rebuilt the finish mower well enough to be able to cut grass with it

This has been quite an adventure; enjoy reading about it. Hope it all works out in the end. Always very satisfying when it does.

What all was rebuilt on the finish mower other than this PTO shaft adventure? Gearbox? Frame?

Two of the 3 spindles needed new bearings and seals put in. The spring type tensioner needed a new spring and there was another adjustment part that needed the adjustment threads cleaned up. If was lucky enough to be able to take the old bearing and seals and part then went into O'Reilly's and they where able to find me bearings and seal for it. The PTO shaft was to short for the Allis C set up so then the PTO fix had to be done and all the fun of taking 2 shafts and making one good shaft. Local places did not have new shafts so unless I wanted to drive a lot to other towns I was not going to find a PTO shaft to fit

Yes always been told once you sit down and stay down that will be the death of you. Now if I can remember where I put that bolt I cut a slit in for emery cloth that I put in a drill the polish the inside of the yoke I'll get that done. But for some reason those bolts I have done that to seem to get lost easy LOL
