TO 30 Ferguson

My Ferguson is shifter start, does not always engage. Some times works like it should. Other times I have to rock it back and forth in gear then it will engage. Is there a trick to help me use my tractor when I want to

Thank You, can I jump the starter on top of the switch with a screw driver in the mean time?

Check the contacts.

They may be burned and need replacing, or may just need cleaning and adjusting.

They should close tightly when the starter lever is pushed in.

Make sure the cable connections are tight and clean.

Yes you can jump it wit ha screwdriver or heavy wire but be 1000% sure it is out of gear. Note I say 1000% not 100% sure as In check and double check before trying that

You can, just be 1000% sure it is in neutral!

replaced start button, all wiring is good clean and tight.
lights and blinkers work so have juice and still wont engage
