It's coming!

School started here today. Brother works HVAC for the school system, was a busy boy today. Just thinking I was glad I never complained about heat this summer as it is WAY better than the alternative.

I'd rather deal with the cold than heat. I figure if I get cold I can always put another coat on. When I get hot there's only so much I can take off before society frowns and the police become involved.

I can't take the heat at all.I can always get warm, but I can't get cooled off.Well,I can,but it involves sitting in an air conditioned spot doing nothing.People say, don't you ever want to go south sometimes in the winter?I say, what am I going to do there? If there's no snow to plow or firewood to cut why go there? I can always do something in the cold, but in the heat I can't function.I shovel roofs with a pair of insulated overalls, and a sweatshirt. After about 10 minutes I lose the sweatshirt if it above 15 degrees.

Me too I despise Jan and Feb and really hate snow. When it snows I burn a lot of fuel moving snow, have to hassle with it with the livestock and have nothing to show for all the work.

I have said I get to cuss the heat, but hate the cold. This summer has almost changed my mind. The cab was 102deg with the A/C on today.

I'm crazy, I know. I grew up in central Nebraska and lived near Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Currently in south central Texas. My biggest bucket list item is dog sledding in Ely, Minnesota. :) kelly

(quoted from post at 13:35:39 08/27/18) I hate winter, cold weather, and snow.

Me too. It is never so hot my tractor won't start, never so hot my pipes burst, never so hot my fingers and toes sting like crazy...

+1 when it is -40 windchill outside the only way to dress warm enough for that is to be inside with the heat on.

D Beatty,
Which great lake? I'm ten or twelve miles inland from lake Michigan and boy do we get the lake effect snow here! After thirty plus years here we are used to it so much that unless it's going to snow more than a foot, don't bother telling me it's going to snow. Most times you can drive two or three miles east and barely have any compared to what we got.
