When would be the best time to spray, early in the morning with lots of dew, or just before dark? I is usually too windy during the day, and I don't want it to drift. thanks!

Here they often do it after dark. Once a neighbor called the cops on my friend. New people from the city thought someone had to be doing something shady.

What does the label say? I am guessing you don't want dew, but I don't know. READ THE LABEL!!!! IT IS THE LAW!

Early/mid day w/heat and sunshine works best. Big thing I've found is PowerMax Roundup rather than generic is worth the extra expense.

Glysophate is a contact herbicide. It cannot be readily absorbed by a plant covered by a heavy dew, in fact, it would probably run off with the dew and be rendered ineffective. Spraying at night works well, but even the slightest breeze will cause drift.....air above soil warmed by the sun will absorb that heat and rise, and it will move with the slightest breeze, taking any fine spray mist with it. A light breeze may carry some spray but it will be mixed enough by the air currents such that drift is less of a problem. Wait till the dew is burned off and read the application manual for wind tolerances based on your nozzle size and pressure.

Also, try to spray when there's the least possibility of kicking up a lot up dust.

Soil/dust landing on the leaves deactivates glyphosate.

They even caution against using water with suspended solids from a "dirty" pond or stream.

Like centash said, you don't want it TOO calm at the wrong time of day and have drifting on the temp inversion. A little breeze in your favor is preferred. Might hafta come back later and finish the job when the breeze switches directions. Try to keep your pressure down and still get good coverage. No need for fog. Have fun! Tractor time! And hey, it's actually raining right now! Finally!

Wait till dew is off. I try to keep pressure below 40 psi. Also have air induction tips to spray dicamba. Wouldn't worry to much about rr drift. Unless grapes, tomatoes, etc. Are adjacent. We used Mad Dog, generic.
