Tractor hauler not running right

This morning I was driving to work and it felt like I drove through a pothole with my right front tire and ever since that happened the trucks not running right. I?m guessing it was a coincidence but it feels like the motor is labored. It?s the same whether it?s driving or sitting still in park and is reved up. I put a new fuel filter on last week and cleaned the air filter out today but no difference any ideas? It?s a 2001 Chevy k2500 with the duramax diesel in it.

How dirty was the fuel filter ? One of my pals did the same thing, and the filter was DIRTY (done in my shop) Changed it again the next weekend and it was better. HTH

never know how dirty the fuel tank is or it could have water in it. then the bump sloshed it and the fuel pump picked it up and its in the filter. should have a water sensor though. also is the filter completly bleed? just an idea. or maybe a sensor or wiring.

I agree with "Sprint 6" on checking the intercooler hoses.

The crankcase vent dumps crankcase vapor into the turbo, eventually making a slippery, oily mess through the intercooler and plumbing and making it easy for a hose to slide/pop off under boost pressure.

If that's the case, you need to clean the inside of the hose and the outside of the tube it fits over with something like BrakeKleen to get the oil off, or it will try to pop off again, no matter how tight you tighten the clamp.

Also, you the "check engine lite" come on?

If it's not a popped off hose, and the lite is "on", I'd scan it BEFORE doing anything to it, see if it will tell you "where it hurts".

Thanks guys I ended finding part of the exhaust fell off making it loader and made me think i had a problem thanks!
