Chased wires a bit and cleaned carb on Fri. Spent Saturday with my folks. Finally got to get back in the barn this afternoon. Cleaned the points and added some gas. Fired up fairly easy. Clutch is sticking a bit. Gotta get used to hand clutch! Valves are tapping, needs a choke cable. Plug wires are terrible so will replace.

Thanks! It's fun to see one come back to life. We drove it for about 15 min. Oil pressure was about 30 lbs. Water was pegged out hot with in 2 minutes. Water in radiator wasn't real hot. Will check it with kitchen thermometer after a good test drive tomorrow. Gauge shows it's charging. I guess that means generator is good?

Video doesn't do it justice when it fired up and he jumped off ! We let him give it the first shot after we hooked up the gas.

Now he's driven a real tractor how you going to get him back on a Ford? ( just being smart ***) You better get him some ear plugs or he'll get as deaf as the rest of us.

Great video, looks like fun time on the tractor! Did prev owners give you any history? Looks like they fixed it up for show tractor?

Old fellow we bought it from was
sick and weak. Memories were
coming and going. Sometimes he was
clear as could be other times not
so much. He did say he bought it
in Neb. Or IL. He wasn't clear on
if he restored it or if he bought
it that way. He did drive them a
couple miles each fall to a
tractor show in the little town of
Orrville Al. But has been too weak
the last several years.

way to go guys getting the R up and running, love the smile on micks face, looks like we have a new mm member here  watching the video guys one thing you might try on the hand clutch grandpa is move it in and out a little slower and smoother, it will work itself in with time, it looks like it's grabbing right now from sitting for so long.

Hey Carvel Minni ,did you happen
to notice how easy I was letting
out on the brakes!?! That's where
the clutch is on our fords! My
wife was laughing at me!! Was
down at the barn this afternoon
between rain showers so we hit the
starter button, mm fired up in 1/2
a second!! Sweet!!

I enjoyed your video. As for the hand clutch push that lever forward about the speed you would let off a foot clutch tractor. It is a slow grandual engagement that way when you move the lever forward slowly, you were moving that clutch lever like it was an old mechanical TA on a Farmall. I guess that did let you know it was running decent as it did not stall the engine.
