Oil filter adapter/nipple

I have a Ford 2110. I ran over a piece of metal that popped up and took off the oil filter. It snapped the nipple that is on the adapter block. It is not snapped flush but is jagged. Is that nipple removable/replaceable? If so, is it a left turn to tighten or right/standard thread to tighten? I see these nipples on Grainger and other sites. I assume, if it is threaded in that housing, that I can replace it with one of those. Thanks.

Are you talking about a regular screw on oil filter. They look like a short nip.p.l,e piece of pipe but they are NOT. They are a course thread straight like a bolt. They un screw with a real big easy-out. Left loose.
