Hydraulic tips ?

So, the post below is making me wonder, why are tips being switched from old JD to Pioneer? Of course my old JD tractors have old JD. I?ve been switching tips to those on equipment I have bought.

Pioneer has become the standard.

If youswitch the tractor with 2 or 4, then you are done and most things you buy new or used will just plug in.

I have 4-8 tractors (depending on main use or sitting around...) and they are of three different colors. I sure don't want to stick with any old manufacturers connectors, I want all my stuff to plug into all my tractors.

Its easiest to have only one type on the place. That said 2 of the hoses on my loader have JD tops. I might get them backwards, but at least the right pair is on the right valve when I hook the loader up.

To add to the other posters, the conversion barrels allow you to hook up easily even with pressure on the hoses. Also 99% of the newer equipment has the ISo or Pioneer ends on it. No more carrying a bucket full of adaptors.

I hated the old style JD tips/barrels. If they had any pressure on them at all you took a bath changing hoses. Even with bleeding off the pressure when parking things, they would have pressure when you tried to hook them up in warmer weather. I do not miss the old style JD tips at all. The last ones I had went into the scrap iron pile. Good riddance!!!!

If you are changing out your attachments frequently, its worth your time to take a look at Stucchi Couplers. They allow you to connect under pressure, and are priced right. They have a wide range to sizes and applications including large backhoes. All are ISO certified and will interchange.
