Road trip new tractors

Took a little road trip today, about 100 miles one way. I've always wanted an Oliver 77 and we found one for sale. Only $600. The fellow also had several Minneapolis Molines for sale. Our friend ( who owns the Ford 951 " mutt") rode along. When we get there my wife ,our 2 boys ,and I fell in love with a Minnie Mo R. He was asking $1000, I offered him $600. We agreed on $800. R was under cover and looked really nice. Tires hold air but are not great. Our friend Dave bought the 77. Both tractors were last run a couple years ago. He said he used to drive them a couple miles to the Orrville Al Tractor show. I'm thinking it's been about 4 years, show started back 2 years ago after a year off. Show is in November so I'm thinking near 4 years. YT DOT will not like the load lol. Sorry. We plan to wash the nasty off tomorrow afternoon. Will post some more pictures. Fun day. Everyone is happy. MM U asking $2500. MM Z asking $3500. Z has really good tires. But they have been sitting just as long. He just got sick and can't tinker with em anymore. Almost forgot, he also had an awesome toy tractor collection. Wanted to sell it with the shed it was in for 10 grand. Will post pictures of some of it later.

Grandpa Love, Nice looking Minne Mo! On another forum the other day they were talking about Oliver Row Crop with the yellow stripe on the frame as the frame casting is raised. Did he find the side panels?

Looks like your MM has flag holders on the front for parade rides, I told you I know where a Oliver 77 sits south of me in NW Florida, I?m going to check on it in a few weeks, something about that green, red and yellow draws me in. Maybe some fresh fuel and your MM will come to life...

No side panels. He got tractor years without them. No pulley either. Dave is gonna be hunting some panels.......lol.

I hope it fires up easy. Go get you an Oliver! Crazy on my part today...an Oliver 77 is my bucket list tractor, so why the mm!!!?

Almost bet if you really look close you will find it is a RTU. I have one my self but need one of the pair of cylinder blocks. One block has a major crack in one of the cylinders. This is the 2nd MM R I have had. I almost called you when I saw you where looking a an Oliver

It is in fact a rtu. Never seen one before today. Now it's in my yard! Call tomorrow afternoon if you got time!

good day's work! both tractors look decent, esp for the money. when you and Dave get them both running, will the Fords have to stay home from the shows?

Nice looking tractors, you will like that R. If you don't know check out the neat engine design.

The younger son has claimed the MM. Older boy is fine with that. Claims he makes money cutting grass with his cub and there ain't a mower on the MM. Lol. That got the younger one started ,he thinks he needs a mower. Ain't it cool to have a 14 year old and a 12 year old discussing old tractors?!?

Dave texted last night ,said he was sitting up on the Oliver seat with his stiener catalog having a blast! I wonder who is gonna get their tractor running first?

Very nice little MM, you are going to really like it. I bet you can get it going in an hr. Find a drag mower and give it some exercise.

I would be real careful using that MM on anything PTO operated since the PTO is right by the operators feet and would be quite easy to get the operator mangled up.

I like that Ollie 77 for what you friend paid for it, that would have been the one I wanted. Old tractor that is still quite usuable even today.

Love that R! You can find 77s all day everyday very common tractor, the R not so much. I like MM but there are a few serious MM collectors around here so it’s hard to find a bargain on them.
