ford 5000 pto

I have a 1974 Ford 5000. we have had problems with the pto for almost 2 years. we have replaced the valve, the pto clutches, and the line from valve also the pump. I do not know what else to do o make it work. PLEASE HELP.

What does it do?

Slip when it's supposed to pull a heavy load? Or even a light load?

Does it spin (freewheel lightly) when it should be off.

Does it work or not work when the tractor is cold, opposite when the tractor and oils are hot?

Does it go into gear and out crisply, or slow and just kinda ramps up to speed.

That will help Bern and the rest sort it out some.

Don't know if yours is like this one? But this is what I did to keep it working for a friend of mine. It would drift back and cause the seal rings to leak. So I made this fitment to hold it in place. The picture with the shaft in place was the final design.
