marlow pump with hemi

in the barn we have a old marlow pump have not used it in years just wondering take it to our local farm sale this fall or dose the hemi V8 engine have any value to a car guy maybe thanks cdv

Those old Hemis do have some value to the Hot Rod guys. Most were 331 ci motors and there are some differences between them and the car motors. They were designed to run at a set rpm and had lower compression and a very mild cam profile. I went in with a buddy of mine years ago and we bought 4 old FMC grove sprayers all with hemis running on propane. We sold three of the motors to a guy in Tampa kept one and scraped the rest of what was left of the sprayers and made good money. We tore the fourth motor down just to see what it looked like and it looked like new on the inside. Put it back together with new rings and ran it off and on for a few years sitting on a stand. Ended up selling it to a local guy to put in a boat he was restoring from the fifties. I would sell the pump and keep the motor. And then see what I could get for it.

Get what you can for the engines and scrap the rest. Those Marlow pumps are getting harder and harder to find parts for and when you can find the part it is way over priced. There are still collectors out there that are willing to pay good dollars for a Hemi.

ep, those were "real hemi's", i.e., had a hemispherical combustion chamber (viz, half a grapefruit) instead of today's "semi-hemi" which are not hemispherical combustion chambers. Kin to RINO's.....but a HINO.

I would expect at least $500.00 for a scrape Hemi,$1000.00 running.. ( Mopar Collectors Magazine, a lot of news stands will have it)

Probably a 331 Hemi . You have to change the cam to a car cam to use in a car.
