1974 Harley Davidson golf cart quit like you turned the key off. Pulled the spark plug; spark was faint and orange. New cond. and points. Points were really bad. Used some fine sandpaper on the points.Set the points at .022. Still have faint orange spark. tried 2 new coils, no difference. Tried a different cond., no difference. Ran a jumper wire from battery to the coil, still faint orange spark. About the only thing I can think of is bad cond.

You may be right, BUT, I'd check ALL the connections and the 'through the case' first. HTH

If the points are beyond just corroded from sitting, chances are sanding will not revive them.
