It seems to me the prices of carbs for these earlier fords as really came down a lot. would seem to me people aren't buying these tractors as much as they did. with the price they charge for a kit its almost cheaper to buy a new carb. I put a new one my 6 volt jubilee and its really starts good. cost me 58 bucks shipped to me house. kits were 30-45 bucks. course like almost all tractor parts there not made in the usa anymore. what do you all think.

I've purchased carbs for mowers and farm vehicles under 25 hp lately from ebay. Superb quality and low price.

What ahs happened is they are coping them in China and India. So you getting imported carbs. Made the price really drop. On small 2 cycle stuff like weed eaters and chains saws I can buy a new carb for less than the kit many times.

any times I have seen the factory carbs marked made in china, I think the last one was on a stihl chain saw for a friend.

For 2 cycle tools, lawn mowers, sure the aftermarket carbs are the way to go. I call those disposable tools.

But for tractors, equipment, I prefer to keep the original if at all possible. Many times the aftermarket carbs are fit all design, universal throttle linkage, somewhere in the middle size venturi, aluminum instead of cast iron...

It may work, may even work better, but I still just like to keep things original.

Better? Maybe, but still not as good as a properly rebuilt original.

Just be glad the Chineese are making em... if they weren't, I doubt we could find em. I need to get a new carb for my FM135 cause whoever rebuilt it last time over torqued everything and getting it apart without damaging it now has not worked well.

My buddy wanted me ignition coil for a 6hp kohler 2017 model, got to wet a guess. Anyways onparts page i seen carb kit was $374.00. You could get the whole engine new from kohler $219.00

I've seen a lot of the re-pop carbs selling pretty cheap for Ford N's.
Around $50 or so. I've heard most work well out of the box.
The rebuild kits do not fit them though, so they are one and done.
The original Marvel Scheblers can be rebuilt over and over if needed.
On the other hand, at the price, it's cheaper to buy more new ones.
I'll take the originals if you don't want them and I'll pay the shipping.
