Great photo ...... can't blame that handsome young fella for trying .... ha !!! Plus he's pretty clever, almost had his Paw Paw figured out. We used to call those little bikes "tote goats" ... I wonder if anyone remembers them being called that? They were probably a bit more basic, unsprung frame, B&S engine, nothing too fancy.

That almost reminds me of my first bicycle. Lived in Winfield KS at the time and got a 26 inch bike for Christmas. Only way I could get on was with a cement block or get a running start. I was around 6 or 7 at the time. My parents figured I would grow into it. LOL By the time I had really learned to ride it the seat was scuffed up but I did learn and I bet I picked up a few tons of pop bottle using it. Had the saddle baskets on it. Also sort of reminds me of a mini bike I ha that my dad wanted to ride. I told him watch the throttle because it would stick an if he opened it up to fast it would pop a wheelie. Well he did just what I told him not to do and opened it up to fast and landed on his back side. He started to yell at me but mom stepped in and said he warned you didn't he

I was raised the same way Old,my first bike was a 24 inch and I was 6. It was a mile to town, and they had high side walks so I could mount up and ride back home after being sent to the store.
