I would like to tell a story of what he said about GM transmissions. I use to read his posts and learned a few things. Well i passed on some knowledge i learned from him to a young guy i am working with for the summer. He has a late 80's or early 90's pickup. He came to work one morning and said it shakes and vibrates. Just put new tires on it. He checked the lug nuts and they were tight. He described the problem to me. He said it not only shakes but doesnt shift right in to 3rd gear. I immediately remembered what i read from reading Allen in neb's posts about transmissions. He said that he got people referring trans problems to him needing rebuilt with this symptom and all it is is a plugged fuel filter. It is starving for fuel so you push down on the accelerator more and the throttle position sensor gives all kinds of false information to the computer and the trans wont shift right. I told this kid my story about Allen on the forums and he listened. His shop didnt know what was wrong with the truck. The fuel filter fixed it. 2 happy people. Him for a cheap fix, and me for passing on Allens great knowledge. Thanks Allen if you are still on here.

A couple years ago he had a house fire. He has posted some after he got back on his feet but not nearly as much as before. I?m sure he is busy this time of year. I?m sure there are others that live closer to him or who have met him in person that know far more about his well being. His posts were always interesting.

Alan went and got a NEW tractor last year so he no longer has any stories about fixing or making do with old tractors.

I knew he had a house fire. Ill bet it has been 5 years ago that i read that post about the trans fix and remembered it all this time. I can remember stuff like that. Its what im suppose to pick up at the store after work for the wife i cant remember.LOL

Allan in NE (note the spelling of "Allan")had posted as recently as 4-19-2018. Don't know anything else about his recent activity.

I think his handle was Allan in Neb. Minor spelling difference. He is one hard working son of a gun and a talented musician. Had the fire and lost his house and everything in it. He got back up after the fire and was working twice as hard to make up for all the losses. He was liked by most on here and some of folks here helped him out, as well as the folks in his area of Nebraska, as they had a fund for his family at a local bank. Guessing here, but I think he realized that in order to run his place profitably he needed modern equipment & more HP. Old undersized equipment might rank high for enjoyment but when trying to make a profit you need equipment that you can count on and can do more of the job in less time. I know at least 1 member on here met him and thought very highly of him. I know that he shared what knowledge and tips that he could with anyone that needed that help. The fact that he is not active on YT is our loss and I for one would welcome him back.

Allan was on here in April. He posts a few times a year now. I think he does not have as good of internet at the farm as he did in town. I think his life is very different since the fire. I hope he is doing well and is happy with things in his life. Seemed like a great fellow. If am ever that far out in NE I will try and look him up.

Sorry, I didn't intend to duplicate what others already said. That's what I get for not reading all the posts before hurriedly posting.

I stand corrected in the spelling of Allan. Thats right, MILK. Yes, it is our loss for him not on here.

That's OK Ron, it happens here every day. It reminds me of a senile person sitting in a group that keeps saying irrelevant things. At least you noticed.

I believe he was going to have to give up farming and start a sawmill. Trees were taking over his farm land!!! His pictures were amazing in that as far as the eye could see, there was hardly a tree to be seen.

I bet he has better internet hook up than any of us here on this sight.

He runs a business out of his house that requires several computers running at all times.

He most likely has two or three backup internet systems as well.

He would not have moved out to the farm if not good internet service.

Yes I have been there. The just outside of town house and the farm house.
