I have all the fabrication done on the axle, and it is ready to take in for finish welding.

Too bad one of you guys is not closer, I am not good enough to finish weld.

Are the extra pieces going to be braces for the trunnion mount? We had a JD M that had a similar front axle, and it was skewed when we got it. I rebuilt it and braced it a little better, just imagine if you were to hit a hidden stump with one front wheel, it put a lot of force on the trunnion mount.
 
Hard to find but 7024 rod on A/C makes beautiful looking welds. You have to run it flat position though.
 
Looking good. I seem to remember you saying the original had a good bit of weld spatter. Just grab some 6013 rods and have at it. I'm sure it will hold and look original to boot. There's plenty of metal so turn up the heat and have fun.

Remember a perfect weld won't look right.
