Had an abnormal flat today.

So I was cutting hay on my neighbors place today and had an abnormal flat on the front. The right hand front tire fell off and laid flat on the ground. One of the 3 bolts that hold it on had fell out so it in turn fell off. Figured I would keep going on the other front till I had to stop. This is on my Farmall BA so it has a trike front end. But while finishing what I was going to do one of the other bolts fell out so I lost 2 of the rim hold downs. Got lucky I had 2 spares laying in one of my tool boxes

Saw something similar at a tractor pull one time. Kid was pulling a big tractor. Lifted the front of the tractor up off the ground and one of the wheels fell off right in front of the girls he was trying to impress.

old, my 'ol pal, you need to find a capable person to check over your stuff/do basic maintenance as needed.

With any attention to that sort of thing, tires/wheels/rims don't simply "FALL OFF", IMHO.

Not all that long ago I had fixed a flat on that tire/rim. Since it is a clamp on type with 3 clamps I guess I did not get it as tight as I should have. Plus the field I was cutting yesterday has a lot of ruts in it so that did not help either. 1.5 miles by road then cut the neighbors field and here in a little while I'll be heading back to finish cutting his hay

I have to tighten them about three times to get the Farmall clamps tight. With a half hour run time between each torquing. I'm sure you usually do the same.

I always had a devil of a time with my M. I run to the bins about a mile away when I grind feed and I can?t tell you how many times I stopped on that road and got out my wrenches. When I finally had time to look closely I noticed that the holes on the hub were a bit egged out. I bought the next size larger bolts and bored all of the holes on the hubs and rims out. There were finally all exactly the same size. Never a problem since.

It took two years of periodic clamp tightening on my 886 after I slid them out before they stayed put. That got really old, really fast.

Well this is the first time I have ever had any problem with them. I did when I put it back on the other day double check them and made sure they where good and tight and double nuted two of the bolts
