Staying cool

Staining a fence for the next several days. It's HOT! Heat index over 100, high humidity. So we have a shade tent, generator and fan. Ain't perfect but it helps.

Had to do some bushhogging and weed eating so we could work! Round up might be good.

Heat didn't used to bother me, but now... It's a deal killer when it comes to working out in the sun! LOL

This will help if you can rigg it up. You need a water mister. That fine mist that a pump sprayer makes....cool water and some kind of little pump. They have them at some of the carnivals and outdoor funtions I have been to. Work amazingly well!

If you could rig it up so that tractor will skid the tent down the fence when you need to move it.

We got tired of the weed wacking also and have gone to Roundup.

fence about 2 months ago for a
customer. Normally we don't do
staining but....it's money!!

How much do you pay your help? Nowadays people would call that child abuse. :lol: How many feet was that fence? For horses? Cattle?

We will add woven wire to the
inside after staining. It is to
keep bird dogs out of the road.
Property is over 1500 acres and
used for hunting. Private owner.
Our kids are actually enjoying the
work. I've wondered if anyone was
gonna stop and say something to
us. Maybe we are far enough out in
the country that folks still
respect parents that make kids
work! Didn't hurt any of us when
we were younger! We are blessed to
have great kids! That fence is
about 1800 ft. Then we have done
about 4500' of woven wire. With
4200' more planned. It's been a
good job!

Are you staining that black? I have 1200 feet of black horse fence that I need to paint or stain again. I can't find black in 5 gals up north here anywhere. You got a lead on an internet source.

We are getting the stain from Sherwin Williams. Buying from the local store. But yes it's black.
