Almost back to normal

It's been a month since my radiation treatment for prostate cancer. The first 2 weeks I was getting up night about every hour to p. On my tractor was stopping about every hour also. Third week I could see some improvement. Now the forth week I get up one time a night which is normal for me. I would not want to go through that again. Going to take a blood test in a couple months to se if the cancer is gone. Like I said before get that thing checked. Stan

Hope all continues to go well. I had removal robiotic surgery at Mayo November 2016. So far so good. Love life still exists with aid of low dose generic Viagra. Can sleep through night if no tea or water right before bed.

My FIL had that, cancer free going on 10 years now, buddy had robot surgery, cancer back after 6 years and he ended up doing radiation.

Like Chief said "Get it checked" everyone over age 60 should be getting annual check-ups. Now they check for prostate cancer by blood test. It is not fool proof and it tends to give false positives, but it sure beats the alternatives. It helps also to get a female doctor if you can find one, smaller fingers result in a lot less discomfort.

Glad you are recovering, it can be a struggle. I just had bladder cancer surgery for the third time on Wednesday. Get to carry a cath for a few days. The surgery is the easy part. The chemo later on is what sucks, last time after chemo it took six weeks before I didn't have to p all the time without warning. As chief said get any of those issues checked right away. It don't go away by itself. Jim

Glad to hear you doing good , hope all goes well down the road too. I?m checked two and three times a year because of having prostatitis so much which is uncomfortable and having to take so much antibiotics, about ready for them to just take it out...

Mine was more aggressive than yours. It took 44 daily treatments to cure mine. Like you, I have much better control now, and my PSA count remains at .02 It was way high at 40, when I started treatments.

I had the robot 3 years ago. Cancer free but the side effects have been hard to manage.
