Hopefully some one will concure or correct my thinking; BUT that barn looks like a Beaty design. The rounded sheat metal roof causes me to think it is. My father Had,I say Had a book on the Beaty design that I used to look through while growing up on the farm.

Yes very popular yrs ago very strong and easy to install. Still a few buildings around with them.If i remmber their trade name was RILCO

Here's the farm I grew up on, barn built in 1947 according to one of my brothers. There's a round roof machine shed behind another barn. Neighbor to the north also had one as well as several more around the area.

I'd rather roof the "Arch" barn than the round one!On the round one every shingle has to be hand trimmed!!!!!!!!!

Those arched roof barns are great! My Brother-in-law has one on the farm he grew up on. Clear span hay mow, not a single rafter anywhere, Lower level loafing area, entire area where there roofing is haymow. laminated arched beams joined at the peak. Think his was buklt the year he was born, 1957.

Farm that hosted a tractor show my buddy and I went to several years had one with a dug out lower level, and short ramp to the upper level. It was amazing the amount of stuff he could park in the haymow, had to be light stuff, empty wagons, hay racks, etc.

Ours has unadilla brand laminated rafters . 2 foot on center , 90 x 36 , 22 foot to the peak , held 36 cows with two crosswalks.

Beautiful barn like that in Missouri I admired for years, used to be relative's. 20 years ago I went by and it had a conventional pitched roof. Seems the place sold and an idiot appraiser insisted they cut the roof off because the 80 year old roof wouldn't last. Just because it was different than anything he had seen.

Nice hay equipment, I like the NH bale wagons. But what is that popup loader doing in the field? Nobody knows how to use that.

Unadilla laminated is still in business changed the name to Unalam. I work for them, dont make very many barns any more. Still make the barn beams they use them in Maine to make salt storage sheds. Make all kinds of laminated beams in all kinds of shapes and sizes you can see some at Unalam.com
