any thoughts on MacDon haybines?

a couple dealers here and have seen 1 or 2 in the field.

when i worked for Gehl 20+ years ago i seen a few up in Wisconsin.

buddy of mine is looking for a diskbine and had a line on a Vermeer but didn't bite as there aren't any dealers handy 1 hour+ to the closeest one, 2 hours to the next closest. a couple MacDon dealers within 45 minutes in both directions.

Thanks.

WHen I lived in Hill County Montana, MacDon headers and tooling was commonly found on custom cutters trailers. They do not purchase inferior equipment. I would say they were solid. Jim

I haven't run their disk mowers, but have had two 9' pull type and a 14' self-propelled. Well built. Was about ready to order a new disk mower a few years back, but decided not to, as milk prices wouldn't make the payments. Hard to find a good used one of any brand around here.

Friend of mine in eastern Washington went into custom swathing canola some years back- he researches everything to death, and decided MacDon was the one (self propelled). He bought one, and was very happy with it. And this is in a situation where it was running 12+ hours a day, every day, during the busy season.
