Old Threshers

I am thinking about taking my MH44 EFI down to old threshers for a day, would probably be Friday before Labor Day.

Anyone else going?

David I have gone twice in the last 4-5 years. The last time was two years ago. If your interested in steam engines or seeing lumber sawed then go. If your interested in antique tractors then look some where else. 100s of tractors setting in an open field with hardly a single person around any of them. One each day they would line up for a SLOW drive by the announcers stand. If you saw some thing different there was not anyone around to asked about it. It really turned my "OFF" on Thresher's show. it will be a good while before I go back. There are other shows that have more going on that is tractor related.

I live at it for all 5 days. I can see JDs point, they have almost too many tractors with very little to do with them. There just isn't room to make everyone happy with space for a BS tent at each machine and jam as many tractors in as they want.

Don't let the naysayers deter you. It's a great show with enough stuff to see it'll take a good 2 days to say you've seen it all. Sure, if you want to talk to every traveler tor owner there, you will be disappointed. If you want to see every brand, make, and model that is 50 years old or older in one spot, then Mt Pleasant is the place to be. They do have a tractor pull 3 or 4 of the days that anyone can pull in, a dyno to hook to, and some tractor games. If you want to see working machines, go to the Half Century Of Power show, but take you walking shoes, it's something like 2 square miles of fields.
