Tractor recommendations

I am looking to purchase a different tractor. I currently have a 1957 Ford 861 Elenco with a loader.
I love this tractor but am look for something newer that is more of a daily runner.
I would like something from the 70s or 80s, 4x4, around 50hp, diesel, and with a quick tach load. Any recommendations? Also what do you think I would need to spend to get all of that?
I will mainly be using it of landscape, food plots and bush hog.

What you will have to spend, depends on the
condition of the tractor. Since you have already had
a Ford, maybe look to another Ford. I had a 92?
Ford 5640 4wd with a cab and loader, very nice
tractor , right around 58-63 hp can?t remember for
sure. They trade for around 20 grand. One thing to
remember with 4wd loader tractors is , you want to
look closely at the front axle, to be sure there is no
bale strings wrapped up in it. Bale string will take
out the seals, and let the oil leak away. Easy to drop
$5-10,000.00 fixing the front axle on a four wheel
drive tractor.

Thanks for the info

I recommend a tractor that meets your criteria, is in good condition, at a price you can afford.

Really, there are so many good choices out there, it's impossible to narrow the field down. Stick with what you know, Fords, or stick with big name brands like Massey, IH, Deere, etc..

Best thing you can do is go shopping. Don't limit your choices too much. You will know the right tractor when you see it.

If you would to stay with Ford look at a 4630
55 HP and about as big as you'd want for land scape work.
It has the much improved hydrostatic steering
Same company that made the 4x4 front axle for Ford also made them for JD and other companies.
Unless you know the history of the tractor I recommend staying away from the shuttle shift models, several thousand $$ to repair if not impossible if they haven't been properly maintained.

Thanks for all the advice.

Hard to answer that question. Area will affect the price as well as brand. Then add in overall condition and the tires. I'd guess at the 20-30K price range to get something in good condition Maybe a little less or more depending on the area.
