So I got a call fro ma guy this morning have trouble with his new to him Cub 7272. He says the PTO will not engage but he can hear a clicking sort of sound when he tried. Plus the diff. lock is real hard to work. I first posted this in the garden tractor forum but found out latter it is a lot bigger then a riding lawn mower. He'll be bring it to my place in the next day or 2. Any idea of what to look for?? One good thing is he has the shop manual on CD

Hello old,

I am sure it will be pretty easy to diagnose for you. I am guessing that it may have just a few strands of wire on the power wire going to the clutch. A loose ground would do the same thing. The manual will sure come in handy,

Guido.
