Ray H has not shown up,,its time to cook some of his turnips

I had cooked some of the thinned greens before,,but its time to pull the bigger ones today

I looked up a recipe for the crock pot

soaked the tops good to get any grit cleaned

chopped everything up pretty small

got a chunk of smoked ham out of the freezer

put it in the crockpot

have extra greens to add,as it cooks down during the day,,Ray H,,If you read this post,,stop in today!!

If I could I would. I love some turnips. I like fresh pork better, but to each his own. Don't forget the

I'll eat anything ONCE, gotta try it to know
if ya like it. But coming out of the garden
makes it especially good. I'll have to give
growing turnips another try this fall...last
fall was a disaster.

I love turnip but my wife dousn't. I thought turnips needed a frost before they are dug so they are sweet.

It don't matter what forum
it's on, looks good to me !!
Not a fan of cooked turnips,
but I'll clean up and eat a
raw turnip.

I did add some,,the recipe did call for a pinch of it,,red pepper flakes were optional,,didnt put any

Larry next time you cook some instead of adding water try using beef bullion. That's what my wife uses in collard greens
