1466 gas tank

I have been working on an inherited f1466 can someone tell me what and where the second fuel line that comes off the bottom of the tank goes to ? when I filled it with diesel the next day I found fuel all over the ground, this line coming off the tank was just dangling there.

It's just a drain.Close the little valve. If it doesn't work,put a plug in the hole.

It is a water trap line. There is a small bubble in the bottom of the tank so water will settle into that lowest spot. Supposed to open the little valve every now and then to drain any collected moisture in the tank. Yaa, lot of them are removed and plugged. But, water not good for pumps.

Never thought about that being a water trap. I think I'll drain my tractors.....Thanks for teaching an old dog some new tricks.
