Thanks to Veterans especially the ones that gave their lives

Someone else summed it up tremendously.

All gave some and some gave all!

Freedom was paid for with the ultimate sacrifices of family members, loved ones, or best friends. May we never forget that price.

God Bless you my Brothers!

Yep many veteran never get what the Government promised them and most just to get what they do get they had to fight for. Even after 3 years I am still fighting the V.A. and I know many others including you.

I also know a number of Vietnam vets who will not even let people know they where in due to being cussed at and spit on when they got out and came home

When I came back in 1972. I was told I could not travel alone. Had to have a travel buddy. Which I did have. Because as one first class put it. You will be sneaking back into your own country.

You will love this one old. After five years of getting the run around by the V A. They have decided that I need to see a CHIROPRACTOR. About my Agent Orange exposure. I guess the fight goes on. Hope you are doing better.

Funny story,(true) when a friend of mine got out from severing in Vietnam, as he was walking from the plane there were protesters, this one woman came up and spit on him, he popped her in the nose and kept right on walking.

Having to see a back cracker instead of where you should be going sounds about right for the V.A. Always seems the left hand and the right hand and the brain are never connected when it comes to many things in the V.A.

As for me and my right knee thing I called the DAV a couple weeks ago and was told my case was pleaded for by a DAV rep not long ago but that is all I know other then there is something like 400,000 others in the appeal thing waiting. Sadly many who are waiting will probably die before they get any thing. Last I had heard any thing other then the call I made was back in 2015 so it is more of the hurry up and wait. VA wants you to do things by a set time but when it goes the other way well you wait for years

I had a cousin who served in Viet Nam and he didn't come back the same man as he was when he went there. He was homeless for a good 15 years and avoided contact with his immediate family ever since coming home. They finally got him on some medicine that allowed him to function adequately around other people and he could at least tolerate being in society. Yet, at the same time he always had a smile on his face when he said hello to me and was very friendly to my daughter who worked her way through high school at a convenience store that was located right next to his government-assisted housing.
About 3 1/2 years ago, I had stopped in at this convenience store one morning for a coffee, said a "good morning" to him and he died of a heart attack about two minutes after that on his walk back to his residence.
Our little, bitty town has an "avenue of flags" every Memorial Day weekend and I'll always remember the people who served and now especially my cousin. Veterans, thanks for serving!

My neighbor has one of those cement pumper trucks. He attached the American flag to it and stood it straight up. Been up since Friday. I had no idea them things went up that high. I kid you not, I bet it is 100 ft. Really impressive. I do not know him. Don't know if he is veteran or not. What a patriot. Like Pres. Reagan said. If you don't see any hero's now days, you are not looking in the right place.
