replant sweet corn?

I'm assuming this is being talked about somewhere. I planted sweet corn a week and half ago but still see nothing. I'm wondering if all this rain has rotted my seed and I should be planning on replanting. Then my next question will be do I have enough time. The big guys with field and seed corn have to be have a similar issue. I guess I'll dig some rows up tonight.

I think I would wait a week. If its been cool and damp it may take longer to come up and some varieties are worse than others. It took about 10 days for my field corn to come up this year which is about normal around here.

Germination times on the bags state 7-14 days. You're at 10 days. The cooler and wetter it is the longer it will take to come up.

As to whether you'll have enough time to replant, you could simply get a variety with a shorter maturity period, 80 days instead of 90.

Sometimes down here in SJ it jumps out in like 4 days. But that is
warm soil with correct moisture, etc. Sandy soil really lets things
get going. It is always neat when you plant lawn seed. You have your
soil all nice and scratched up, buy a couple bags of big box store's
finest, and use your little broadcaster thingy. I mow the lawn and
rake up some of the clippings and gently shake a thin layer of grass
clippings over top of the seed. Holds the moisture level. Just a
sprinkle of water every day. Maybe 4 or 5 days you look at it and
there is this green haze. Yea another successful grass job. Just enjoy
making stuff grow.

Hi, last year I planted 5 rows of corn 70ft long.
About 7 or 8 came up out of the 500 . The seed was
Pacific Western. I replanted with a seed called
Colorow. I think about every one came up in about
a week. I emailed Pacific Western , they didn't
bother to reply. Ed Will Oliver BC

Thanks for the response guys. I had planned on digging up a area on a row last night but the grand daughter derailed me and I'm happy for that. I did look at my seed bag and its 80 day with 10 to 14 germination so I guess I'm just a bit anxious. I do have an area where I hand broad cast turnip seed and it came up in four days. I have no idea what I'm going to do with all the turnips though. Ha. I put in 12 rows of sweet corn 150 feet long and the same amount with big strip sunflowers. The sunflowers also have not popped yet, but I sure do have the turnips. The veggie garden is doing great.

Everything we planted in the garden this year was slow to come up, but it all did. Even the weeds are slower this year.
